00:00:09.772 --> 00:00:16.684
Hello, my friends and fellow animal lovers, welcome to a brand new season of the Story of my Pet podcast.
00:00:16.684 --> 00:00:26.288
I am your host, julie Marty Pearson, and I'm so excited and happy to welcome you back to the podcast for a new season.
00:00:26.288 --> 00:00:38.683
I know I've taken a little break from sharing stories, but I am back with some great pet stories and some amazing animal organizations to share with you.
00:00:38.683 --> 00:00:45.573
I started this podcast three years ago to share my own pet stories, past and present.
00:00:45.573 --> 00:01:17.862
Since then, it has grown and evolved to become a space for people to share the stories of their own pets, as well as to shine a light onto the importance and issues facing animal rescues and shelters and the importance of adopting and fostering to help save the lives of pets in our local community, in our state, in our country, around the world.
00:01:17.862 --> 00:01:45.472
When I started this podcast, I thought I knew a lot about animal welfare and rescue, but I've learned that I only knew a small fraction of the reality of the animal rescue world and the overwhelming need for help and support due to the current overcrowding crisis in many areas, including my own local community in California and our state and our country.
00:01:45.472 --> 00:02:04.865
So I am bringing back this podcast because I want to continue to help educate and advocate for animals in need and help support the amazing rescues and shelters in my own local community, as well as around the world that I have met through the guests who have come on the podcast.
00:02:04.865 --> 00:02:08.435
And when I talk about the impact this podcast has made, I really mean it.
00:02:08.435 --> 00:02:10.483
I have learned so much myself.
00:02:10.483 --> 00:02:20.687
It has actually helped me grow as a person as well as in my role helping animals and helping people in the animal rescue world.
00:02:20.687 --> 00:02:32.674
Since I started this podcast, many things I have done for the first time, including volunteering at my local shelter, being a kitten foster mom and adopting one of our kittens.
00:02:32.674 --> 00:02:40.542
I have adopted before, but I've never fostered and been able to adopt one to become a part of my own fur family.
00:02:40.542 --> 00:02:50.210
I worked for a while for the shelter, helping with off-site dog adoption events, and I helped many amazing dogs find their forever homes.
00:02:50.210 --> 00:02:55.282
So when I say that this podcast has changed my life, I mean it.
00:02:55.282 --> 00:03:07.713
I am honored to have you join me here to hear the stories that I am sharing of my own personal experiences, as well as the incredible stories I am sharing with those of the guests I am interviewing.
00:03:07.713 --> 00:03:18.435
So thank you for listening and supporting my passion, this podcast and all of the animal rescue organizations that we have talked about.
00:03:18.435 --> 00:03:24.459
We want them to become even more visible and help even more animals survive.
00:03:25.421 --> 00:03:29.332
As I'm recording this trailer, I live in California.
00:03:29.332 --> 00:03:42.145
I am a third generation Californian, born and raised here, and just a few hours south of me, the community is being ravaged by devastating wildfires.
00:03:42.145 --> 00:03:59.181
It has helped push me to get this trailer out and new episodes, because I want to help provide important information for the people being affected and their pets, and I also want to provide information to you so that you can help them.
00:03:59.181 --> 00:04:08.326
If that's something that you want to do, one way you can help them is to go to the link in this episode and go to my new merch shop.
00:04:08.326 --> 00:04:31.211
This shop has items available for you to purchase that are related to both of my podcasts Podcast your Story Now and the Story of my Pet, specifically, the shirt I am wearing right now, which says Adopt a Pet and Save a Life, as well as the design that says Fostering Saves Lives All versions of those designs.
00:04:31.379 --> 00:04:46.867
A portion of the proceeds are going to be donated to animal rescue organizations working on the front lines and helping those impacted by the Southern California fires, including Marley's Mutt's Dog Rescue and Pasadena Humane.
00:04:46.867 --> 00:04:51.521
Again, the links to those amazing organizations will be in the show notes of this trailer.
00:04:51.521 --> 00:04:53.026
I will also.
00:04:53.026 --> 00:05:04.822
In the next episode, the first episode of season four, I will be sharing my interview with Melissa Brunson, the executive director of Marley's Mutts Dog Rescue.
00:05:04.822 --> 00:05:21.173
You'll be able to learn about their rescue, their current efforts and, although the interview was done prior to the fires that are currently happening, they are supporting the animal rescue organizations in Southern California.
00:05:21.173 --> 00:05:41.908
They are desperately in need of fosters to take the dogs that they currently have in their care so that they can bring more animals from those areas into their ranch in Tehachapi to take care of them and help find them homes and take the burden off of some of the rescues that are down there in the middle of everything that is happening.
00:05:41.908 --> 00:05:55.252
So please check out those links, support those organizations, buy some cute merch if that's something you would like, and a portion of the proceeds for those will go directly to those organizations.
00:05:56.302 --> 00:05:59.432
And every story that we share here is making an impact.
00:05:59.432 --> 00:06:02.860
We are sharing stories of how animals have been saved.
00:06:02.860 --> 00:06:15.906
We are sharing stories of how animals can be saved, how you can save them, how you can help to save them and how you and I can educate others to take action for themselves.
00:06:15.906 --> 00:06:29.464
Thank you for being here with me, for listening to my stories, for sharing this podcast and for advocating for animals in your own local communities.
00:06:29.464 --> 00:06:41.913
Every animal has a story, but they can't tell it, and I am here to tell as many as I can for the animals that cannot speak for themselves.
00:06:41.913 --> 00:06:57.427
Thank you for listening, thank you for sharing and, if you haven't done it yet, wherever you are listening to this podcast, please hit the subscribe button so you will not miss another new episode of the story of my pet.
00:06:57.427 --> 00:07:00.002
And much love to you and your pet.
00:07:00.002 --> 00:07:14.821
You.
